Ilford isn’t an area that first comes to mind when you think about Ts nightlife in London, it is a few miles from the city. If it’s local nightlife that you are after then this could be a great call. The nightlife in Ilford is far cheaper and more relaxed then some of the other areas in London. This area is still known as up and coming so there are new bars popping up, below are a few of the local places to hang out or dance the night away. Berties – Berties is a good local bar that’s open until 11 pm every night, most of the people you meet in there will be locals and are out to have a good night. Drinks are relatively cheap and entrance is either free or less than £5 on the weekends. This is also a great place for Soul and RNB lovers as they play soul on Friday Night. Faces – Faces is one of the most talked about clubs in Essex, made popular by TV series The only way is Essex. This club is more pricier then others in the area but it’s worth the extra money, its open until 3 AM on Saturday night, the music is mainly commercial and normal club beats on Friday and Saturday nights, this club has a great vibe and good atmosphere and membership is required for guaranteed entry but not essential. Faces is the place to be if you are planning a night out in Essex, also the door staff do have a reputation for being aggressive and rude, but this is more of a celebrity venue and you must be well dressed to get in, this place will not grant entry unless you are dressed smart and large group of guys will not get in, so avoid trying to enter in a large group. 458-462 Cranbrook Road, Ilford, Essex IG2 6LE

Visage – if 80’s is your thing then this club is just perfect for you, based in Gants hill this bar is an easy commute from central London and has a great retro look. This club has a great booth style seating area, plasma TV and a DJ booth with a dancefloor so you can dance the night away, the crowd is usually mature crowd over 25s. Beers start from £4.00 so not the most expensive night out 442-444 Cranbrook Road, Ilford IG2 6LL

O’Neills – not a club as such but a great place to begin your night out in east end as drinks start from £1 on some week nights, so it’s the best place to get tipsy before you drink the night away. If you are planning a night out in Ilford, it is highly recommended to have transport home sorted before you go out, there are plenty of doggy illegal cabs and not great amount of transportation late at night. You must only use a licenced cab office for your safety.
