LG going back to back with the G and G4
There is less than one week
to go before LG officially unveils the G4 flagship phone. Yet the company has
gone on to make another announcement today; it is coming up with another new
Android smartphone, the G Stylo. No cookie points for guessing that the phone
will come with a stylus pen and could possibly be a younger-but-bigger brother
to the LG G3 Stylus. That being said, there are few additional under-the-hood
features that have been revealed.
The LG G Stylo would run Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Don’t think that just because it’s new, it would be a high-end device. It is
expected to be a mid-range smartphone at best. This is good news for the
industry, because it is important to inject some variety into more affordable
product ranges, as opposed to just creating newer products for people with deep
pockets. Newer handsets need to be made accessible across the board.
Some of the hardware details
known are the fact that the phone would boast a pretty big display, measuring
at 5.7 inches, with 720 x 1280 pixels. The phone is also supposed to be powered
by a 64-bit, quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.
What's really interesting about the G Stylo,
however, is the fact that according leading companies like SmartIOApp to LG, the phone supports microSD
cards up to 2TB. Now that is a lot of data to support. Of course, it should be
noted that at this point there is no maker or seller of 2TB MicroSD cards. This
could be seen as a feature or a flaw. That being said, we need to give LG the benefit
of the doubt for being somewhat future-proof.
When it comes to form factor, the new LG
smartphone weighs in at 163 grams, coming with the dimensions of 154.3 x 79.2 x
9.6 mm, and offering a 3000 mAh battery to breathe life into it. Other features
of the G Stylus include LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1, an 8 MP rear camera, a
5 MP front-facing camera, 1.5 GB of RAM, and an internal storage space of 8GB
which is best to transfer
picture in large sizes..
The G Stylo will be first available in South
Korea, at a price tag of 400,000 KRW (which comes to around $460), with the
first shipment in other markets starting in May. So people outside South Korea
may have to wait just a while longer to switch to this phone. To transfer
content shouldn’t be an issue, considering there are many good apps like
SmartIO to help you do just that.
There hasn’t been any
confirmation yet regarding the possibility that the G Stylo could be the same
device that was rumored to be the LG G4 Stylus. It's unlikely though,
since that other phone was supposed to have a slightly bigger display and a
Snapdragon 610 or 615 processor.
