The Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training is designed with an aim to recognize the knowledge, skills, and competence required for an individual to work as a personal trainer. This includes the provision of one-to-one training, nutritional advice, baseline assessment, and progressive programming which is in accordance with the needs of the clients.

By pursuing this qualification, learners cover the following topics:

1.      Physiology and anatomy which includes the musculoskeletal system, circulatory system, core and postural stability, endocrine, nervous and energy systems and their connection with health and exercise.

2.      Maintaining health, welfare and safety in different fitness environments

3.      Programming safe and effective exercise for different clients, health advantages of physical activity and significance of healthy eating

4.      Effectively communicating with clients and motivating them to adhere to exercise programs.

5.      Applying the nutritional principles for supporting client goals as a part of physical activity program

6.      Designing, managing, adapting a personal training program with healthy adults of all ages

7.      Delivering exercise and physical activity as a part of a program for healthy adults of all ages

What is the structure of this qualification?

The Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training comprises of mandatory units of 36 credits. These units are as follows:

What are the entry requirements?

For pursuing the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training, no such entry requirements have been prescribed. However, it is essential for pursuers to have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or any other equivalent qualification.

What is assessment method?

The performance of the pursuers is assessed through the following methods:
