Lesser known markets to visit in Delhi for your new year's shopping

Relocating to a metro city can be difficult. It changes quickly, widely, and quickly again. However, it has always been a paradise for those who can't love to experience new things and go to new locations. In Delhi, there are many excellent markets. So, if you're new to the capital city and looking for nearby places and good markets near your student accommodation, here's a rundown of some of Delhi's most well-known markets and everything they have to offer.


Central Market

The Central Market in Lajpat Nagar, a well-known district of Delhi, is a maze worth investigating. Almost anything, including shoes, clothing, home décor, and fabric, may be found here in a variety of price ranges. You can shop for reasonable clothing, shoes, jackets and even accessories that will help you create just the perfect outfit for your New Year’s Eve party. The market also has various eating joints that you can explore once you are done with your shopping spree.


Connaught Place

There must be a shot of the recognisable white buildings of Connaught Place in any film or video that depicts Delhi. Connaught Place is a favourite hangout for people staying in Roop Nagar, PG. It's also the best place to shop and consume unlimited food. The iconic Wenger's bakery is also situated in Delhi's Cannaught Place.


GK II M Block Market

Are you staying in one of the Pg rooms in Greater Kailash and wondering how to beat the curfew while enjoying your weekend in a club? The famous M Block market is there to your rescue. GK II M block is one of the best markets to fulfil all your wants because it's bursting with eateries, coffee and dessert spots, branded clothes businesses, and home decor shops. You can find everything here, from the iconic Nik Bakers, where you can chow down on some delicious bread, to street stores selling the trendiest of clothes, shoes and handbags. The goods found here might be more expensive but at the same time, they are of a higher quality and totally worth investing in. 


INA Dilli Haat

The most beautiful clothing, home décor, and jewellery can be found at Dilli Haat if you adore handicrafts, handwoven, and handmade items. You can enjoy the touch of traditional Indian art in everything found here and if you are looking to decorate your house in the upcoming year, then Dilli Haat should be on your must-visit list. Do not forget to treat yourself to the variety of restaurants spread around the market serving different Indian cuisines.  


South Extension

An iconic location to shop for the top brands and everything they have to offer,  South Ex is a shopping paradise where you can find almost anything. Part I and II comprise its two sections (situated on either side of Ring Road. You can readily find branded stores here including Levi’s, Mochi Shoes, Venus Steps, Tanishq and more over here. Remember to take those small breaks to treat yourself to the best momos in Delhi.
