Learning To Listen
You'll soon find out that one of the most important activities you can learn is how to listen on the Social Web. Its a great place to start when you learn how to listen and improve yourself in the process. Plenty of consumers are showing frustration because they don't feel like they're being listened to.
Once you add listening to your Marketing arsenal its a safe bet that you'll be well recieved by your target Market. Here's the kicker, you not only have to learn how to listen but you also have to learn how to take action on what you're listening to. Incorporate a listening platform in your Marketing and you're halfway home.
Learn how to track your customers and your competition to see what they're talking about, it may seem a bit much but every little bit of information counts, especially from the perspective of your customer. Remember, your visibility and interaction about your brand can't be understated, let your presence be known.

I agree Arthur it should be a common courtesy however in these days of I want it and I want it now so few actually listen with comprehension or evenjust listen and prefer to talk over or at you for their own purpose especially within business, As my old house master at school used to say two ears one mouth use them in that proportion boy

Just plain honesty
Listening is not an art - it is a common courtesy. Listening involves comprehension and drawing intuitive conclusions. Listening also involves knowing what you are listening to. If you just look at some of the comments in Apsense, you will soon realise that many of them do not actually address any aspect of the original post. You will also see that very few people read the comments of other contributors before adding their own comment.

You're welcome to you both, I'll never forget the time I was spammed on the phone. This person didn't come up for air for 10 minutes, when they finally let me talk and I told them what I thought, they were shocked because they said nobody ever told them. I told them most people won't tell you to shut up but you'll never hear from them again.

Your right Paul Listening is so Important...
I actually would consider Listening to be an ART! Many people love to talk so much that they never stop to listen to what others are saying. What a shame that is. It is nice to hear another one speak on a subject... getting another point of view is always a good idea.... Cindy
