Learn Practical Ways On How To Get Rid Of Self Doubt

Can I do this? Do I have the experience and knowledge to undertake this difficult task or is someone doing it better than me? Many of us are affected greatly by the “self doubt syndrome” and are often prompted to step back because we feel ill-equipped to take up a particular challenge.  You can’t give up so soon without even attempting starting.  Isn’t this self destructive behavior?

How to get rid of self doubt and how can you deal with feelings of insecurity?  For this, you need to analyse yourself and understand why you doubt yourself whenever you attempt a task.  Is it past experience and mistakes that are messing with your present way of thinking?  Self-doubt often troubles those who have faced the constant brunt of comparison and have been demoralized by their parents.  The fear of failure and not being able to complete the task appropriately also makes a person stay shrouded in self-doubt.

  1. You need to believe in yourself and deal with “how to get rid of self doubt” aggressively!  It is a challenge and all you have to do mould yourself by positive reinforcement and wisdom.  The past mistakes cannot be changed and need to act as warnings in your future pursuits. Go ahead make decisions and don’t look for your parent’s approval every time.  There are positive attributes in you, just dig them up!
  2. The moment you understand that your brain is behaving negatively, stop!  Conjure up confidence and rationalize as to why you can’t do the task ahead of you.  Take a deep breath and calm-down, smile away the irrational fears and march ahead.
  3. Music has an amazing therapeutic way of infusing a person with positivity, confidence, and energy.  Listen to your favourite songs and brace yourself for the task ahead.
  4. Physical exercise also boosts confidence.  You can go for a run, a dance session or game before you start the task.  You have the energy and capability, you can do it!
  5. Do not carry people’s baggage along with you when you approach a new task.  No one cares about what you do in the long run; neither should you think about what they are thinking about you.  Normally we end up making blunders because we are bothered about other people’s thoughts regarding our actions.  There are some good sides and there are some bad sides to every action.  Public memory is very short.  They will soon forget the performance, so carry on naturally.  Criticism always makes a person more courageous, so use it productively.  Seize the moment and don’t let it go.
  6. A journal is very helpful in evaluating ideas, actions, thoughts and feelings.  Self talk may help you constantly think and vent out your internal feelings.  Feelings of self doubt can be overcome when you see them clearly written on paper.  You can approach the task with new perspectives.
  7. You can beat self-doubt by sharing your inner feelings of failure with someone close to you.  Open your heart and take help. In the end you may realise your self-doubt is just exaggerated feelings.  An unbiased person can offer more suggestions and ideas to deal with the situation. Take advise, it doesn’t hurt!
