Learn how your 24000 BTU Inverter Split AC in Bangladesh works!

by Rudra S. Consultant
The extreme climate condition in several parts of Bangladesh makes air conditioners a necessity throughout the year. If you are someone who is looking for a modern split air conditioner for your home this festive season, this one is for you.

Before making that final choice, it is crucial you learn about how your most used machine works.

In a split AC:

•    The refrigerant is first fed into the compressor where it is pressurized. This leads to rise in heat.

•    The pressurized gas then goes through a succession of tubes, which condense it into a liquid.

•    The pressurized liquid passes through the expansion jointwhere it becomes a gas again as the pressure is rapidly reduced.

•    As the pressure reduces, the gas also releases a great deal of heat and becomes much cooler (thus, refrigerant).

•    The process is repeated. Air from the room is drawn into the unit and passes over the evaporator coils.

•    The air continues to circulate through the air conditioner until a set temperature (set by the thermostat) is reached.

•    At this point the apparatus shuts off automatically.

Apart from being cooling devices, these new age ACs are also high on innovative features like humidity control, air purification and air purifying features to give the consumers the best air conditioning experience. Here are a few things you can take note of while choosing the best split AC for your homes!

1. Capacity: The capacity of the air conditioner should be considered depending on the floor size of the room for which the AC is required. There is a considerable amount of difference when it comes to price as well as the cooling efficiency between a 18000 BTU split AC or a 24000 BTU Split AC . Make get the air conditioner with optimum tonnage to suit your room size before swiping off your card!

2. Energy efficiency: Today, with rising mercury levels and increasing electricity tariffs, an energy efficient model of air conditioner is a must-buy. Air conditioners come with star rated energy efficiency ratings; also called EER, which has been standardised by the Kenya Bureau of Standards . Therefore, any unit with more stars will consume lesser electricity than one with a lower star rating.

3. Split or window AC: Another deciding factor is whether you want a window AC or a split model. Though window units are cheaper and easy to install, split ACs are quieter, aesthetically more pleasing and provide better air distribution.

4. Product Price & Air Quality: Price is another important factor to consider as more features and higher star ratings account for a higher price tag. Also, indoor air quality is very important when installing ACs at home. A good filter not only ensures clean air but also enhances the cooling performance and energy efficiency of AC by preventing the choking of evaporator coil due to dust.

5. Installation requirements: The window AC is a compact unit designed to be attached to the windows. A split AC has a compressor unit outside the house and one indoor unit inside the room, specifically designed for better flow of air.

6. Cooling speed: Ideally, the AC should have an adjustable thermostat (temperature setting) and at least two cooling speeds, including a minimum of two fan speeds as you may want to use variable speeds for different times of the day. Additionally an energy efficient setting will be a beneficial addition as it helps in saving energy while providing optimum cooling.

In addition to this, look out for any additional features you might want to consider; these features range from a dehumidification function to a sleep mode function and an air purifying mode.
