Latest Test Rankings: Kohli Pays The Price For His Sloppy Form

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the latest test rankings of the players based on their current performance and it has been a mixed bag for players of all the teams. While the Indian skipper Virat Kohli has lost his second spot to Joe Root of England by a single rating point, Cheteshwar Pujara from India gained 6 ranks to rest on the sixth.

The latest ICC test ranking table for the batsmen is as follows:

Apart from this, Ajinkya Rahane rests unmoved on his 15^th spot, while Lokesh Rahul gains the maximum edge by climbing 26 spots. His match winning knocks have now offered him a place on 23^rd spot in the latest ICC Rankings.

Among the bowler’s rankings, the first two spots have been bagged by the Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Both the spinners have similar ratings points of 892 and jointly hold the first spot. Josh Hazelwood of Australia is at the third spot, while there have been no other major changes in the top ten list of bowlers.

Apart from the batsmen and the bowlers, there had been a major change in the list of ICC test all-rounders. On account of his sloppy batting form in the current series against Australia, Ravichandran Ashwin of India lost his first spot to the Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, who regains his top spot after a certain time period.
