When we talk about wearing hair extensions and weaves, the motive should be obtaining a natural like appearance. You will surely not wish your weave to get detected. This is the reason why in various installations, the hairs need to be left out in the front for covering tracks. Additionally, with the weaving process, there is the hassle to blend the hair texture of the extensions and your own hair texture. The process can turn out to be extremely annoying.

Furthermore, for ensuring the success of the blending process, you need to apply constant heat. This significantly increases the chances of heat damage. Today, all thanks to closures, now wearing a believable weave without resulting in any hair damage is possible. Closures are small hair unit that are used for covering the front of the hair where you normally leave hair out for giving the installation a natural hairline appearance.

Closures are available in two different forms, silk closures and lace closures. They can be sewn, taped or glued. Even though both of them are applied to your hair and more or less achieve the same results, still they are different. If you are not sure which closure is ideal for your hair, let us learn more about the both forms of closures.

Lace Closures

Lace closure is made using a lace like foundations with hair strands fixed into tiny holes. This form of closure when placed against your natural scalp or skin, it offers a scalp like appearance. It even permits for an extremely flat and simple application making the installation process easy. However, for achieving the best results, you will require doing some tweaking to lace closures. As the hair strands are directly rooted into the lace, tiny black knots become visible where the lace and hair meet. But there is no need for you to worry. You can comfortably bleach the knots for eliminating the grid like effect which the dots create. An easy alternative is adding foundation.

Silk Closures

Silk closure is made using hair strands rooted into a skin like, nude silk material that toughened with lace. As compared to lace closures, silk base closures last longer and usually do not need any bleaching. With the silk material backing on the closure, the closures mimic the scalp without the requirement of significant alteration and knots are not visible as well. However, this form of closures is usually a little thicker. So, it can be a challenge to get a super flat closure installed.

Consider the aforementioned features of lace and silk closures and ensure which one is ideal for your hair. With its usage, ensure radiant and voluminous hairs which you have always desired!
