Education in the world of music plays crucial role which helps in nurturing skills and gaining industry-relevant knowledge. Layering

There is no correct way to draw the melody first or its rhythm, It can be related to the famous theory of Which came first “Chicken or an Egg”.

Harmonic Composition

Facing a blank page is always a challenge, if we are prepared to write a piece that is constructed from the combinations of chords and melodies can be started in two common ways.

•             Drawing a chord structure in harmonic series and then write a Melody

•             Write a melody and then fix the chords as according to the melody

Start by creating a melody and then fitting chords to that melody, this method is called a melodic composition. When we compose the chord driven melody we are defining a Harmonic structure.

Melodic Composition

To compose a popular chord based composition the only way to compose is from a melodic point of view. In order to craft a melody in its own flow; the melody intends to move wherever it needs to go; there are no restriction s of rhythmic circles and bars. By applying this approach the melody takes the front seat in the composition leaving all other aspects to secondary.

This approach gives lot of freedom that avoids arriving in the challenging situation. 

Holistic Composition

The combine approach gives rise to a Holistic approach, which is not a possible ability every composer possess. The nature of Holistic composition is measure by measure where melody goes simultaneously with the harmony. The challenge behind this approach might not make it the first choice of any composer.

Layering

 This approach is used to create a great effect in certain contemporary idioms, Such as Minimalism and other various new age electronic composers leading this new generation of cinematic sound and popular music.
