Keeping Floors Clean
Our house is almost 100 years old, and most of the floors are original. And I suspect a lot of the grime that was trapped in there was older than I am. With minimal effort on my part—just filling the water tank and pushing the thing around less forcefully than I would a regular mop—our floors were spotless. And our socks are too.
Cleaning floors is an important part of our cleaning service. We use many different methods depending on the particular surface. We clean everything from hardwood floors, to vinyl, to deep pile carpets.
If built-up grime on your floors is bugging you, here are two easy things to try:
1) Take off your shoes. It's common sense: The dirt (and dog poop and construction debris) from the bottom of your shoes gets tracked all around your house if you don't kick off your shoes at the door. That's gross if you live solo—and gag-inducing if you have kids and pets, who are definitely rolling around in your bottom-of-the-shoes filth.
2) Try mopping with white vinegar. Years ago I edited a book that offered loads of "green" cleaning tips including this one: You can swap diluted white vinegar for most of your chemical-laden cleaning solutions (mopping liquid, window spray, surface cleaner). It's cheaper, safer—and more effective against seriously ground-in dirt. While most mopping liquids leave a filmy residue, white vinegar (I add a cup to a bucket of warm water) leaves your floors pristine. Don't worry—the smell dissipates when it dries.
Our Brisbane bond cleaning services can do all of this for you, and a lot more besides. Given our extensive experience in this area I urge you to get in touch when your lease expires for an end of lease cleaning quotation.
