Legend of Goddess Kaalratri
There are some intriguing stories behind this
threatening form of Durga. When two evil spirits named Shumbha and Nishumbha
attacked devaloka and vanquished Indra and his military. In the wake of losing
his kingdom, Swarga, Indra alongside the various divine beings went towards the
Himalayas to look for assistance. They petitioned goddess Parvati and looked
for Her help to help them get back their kingdom. Goddess Parvati made Chandi

Nishumbha sent two evil presences Chanda and Munda. Chandi made another
goddess, Kali, to battle Chanda-Munda. Kali slaughtered them two and in this
