The mile-long Siq is the primary way into Petra, and it requires you through an immense fissure in the rock. At details, it is only a few feet wide; the increasing rock walls dwarf guests and add to the exclusive feel of this location. Winding through the Siq on your way to other destinations is an expertise to be savored, but most persons are eager for their 1st glance of the Treasury, which seems through a crack in the Siq.

The Treasury, or Al-Khazneh, awaits at the finish of the long tunnel. This is one of the most intricate structures in the town, and the sandstone face with Greek-influenced structure is amazing to say the minimum.
