Abigail Jones and James Skrabak were married at Peoples United Methodist Church of South Thomaston on the afternoon of June 27, 2015, with the Rev. Michelle Wiley officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lowell and Susan Jones of Owls Head, and the granddaughter of Peter and Ellyn Marckoon of South Thomaston, Jean Jones of Lockport and Lowell Jones, also of Lockport.

The groom is the son of Jim and Nancy Skrabak of Marshfield, Mass., and the grandson of Joe Skrabak and Merrill and Polly Leavens.

Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Amy Griswold, and co-maids of honor were sister Jessica Jones and best friend Elsie Mason. The best man was brother of the groom, Ben Skrabak, and groomsmen were friends Andy Smith and Nick Ryan. Little Lydia Griswold, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Wes Woods, friend of the bride and groom, spoke movingly in a very special tribute to the couple.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother, and the mothers of both bride and groom took part in a unity ceremony by pouring colored bits of glass from two separate vessels into one; the glass will be made into a decorative bowl by Helen Hajny of Get Fired Up in Sanford. The arbor that the couple was married under was built by the bride's father of birch logs, and decorated with hanging planters. The bride also made her own bouquet, the bridesmaids' bouquets and the men's boutonnieres.

The bride's spaghetti strap, ivory colored gown was fitted in the bodice and featured many fluttery layers in the skirt with a jeweled piece attached to the left side. The gown was by Andrea's Bridal in Portland; the bride's attendants wore pale green knee-length dresses with black lace overlay. The gentlemen wore black slacks and pale green shirts with black suspenders and bow ties; the groom also wore a black vest.

The reception was held immediately after the wedding at Echo Hill in St. George. The caterer was Kathy Feener, bartender was Shannon Stone, and the DJ was Annette Young of Echo Entertainment. All of the table decorations were created by the the groom's mother and aunts. His grandfather made the wooden table numbers. The wedding planner was Jamie Dakin.

The bride is a graduate of Rockland District High School, class of 2008, University of Maine (BA) 2012, and MA 2014. She works at Aurico Investigations.
