Jill Biden rejoins President after negative Covid-19 tests

by Sara Floyd Hello

Jill Biden, the first lady left isolation after testing negative for COVID-19 on Sunday and will leave South Carolina, where she had isolated since vacationing with President Joe Biden, and rejoin him at their Delaware beach home.

She had been isolating, where she tested positive for the virus in South California as there last week the couple wrapped up a vacation. Before going to Wilmington, Delaware the president made a brief stop at the White House. On Saturday night he arrived in Rehoboth Beach.

Apart from this, “she tested negative again on a rapid antigen test. On  the other hand, a PCR test came back positive. Thus, The First Lady is double-vaccinated, twice boosted, and only experiencing mild symptoms”, said by Alexander. In his statement, he said that the first lady, 71, has been prescribed the antiviral Paxlovid and will be isolated from others for at least five days.

“All the information disclosed by the First Lady’s close contacts. In South Carolina, at a private residence she is currently staying and after receiving two consecutive negative COVID tests will return home,” Alexander said.

Since last week, the first lady has been vacationing with President Joe Biden on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. She was expected to travel to Orlando, Florida, for events at Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday.

Her positive diagnosis came after the president tested positive for the virus in July just a few weeks later. At the end of the month with Paxlovid he was immediately treated and tested positive again, this happens after a few days of testing negative, which due to the drug his doctor described as a “rebound” case.

During that time the first lady did not test positive. The White House said Tuesday morning on an antigen test Biden tested negative. “He will wear a mask for 10 days when indoors and in close proximity to others, as a close contact of the first lady”, said by the White House. Instead this, it will also try to increase his testing cadence and once done report those results.

Moreover, on Aug 7, President Biden, 79, recovered from a rebound case of the virus. Elizabeth Alexander spokeswoman on Sunday said that Jill Biden was prescribed the antiviral drug Paxlovid and isolated at the home on Kiawah Island, South Carolina for five days where they vacationed, this happened before receiving negative results from two consecutive COVID-19 tests.

Through corporate tax increases and prescription drug savings the legislation will raise about $700 billion, and it will spend on clean energy and health care provisions about $400 billion. Of what most Democrats had wanted, the package falls far short.

Along party lines, with all Republicans opposing it the House passed the bill in 220-207. In the week earlier, the Senate passed the measure in a 51-50 vote, by breaking the tie with Kamala Harris Vice President.

To lean on members of this Cabinet Biden plans to tout the bill’s benefits as part of what White House officials described. He described it as a “coordinated August recess travel blitz.”

Across the country nine members of the Cabinet are already set to hold 18 events, including Tuesday. However, Michael Regan, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator plans to discuss the legislation at a conference in Oklahoma City.

On Tuesday, Biden is returning to the White House from South Carolina to deliver remarks and sign the sweeping climate and health care legislation passed by Congress last week. Afterward, he is expected to travel to Wilmington, Delaware. On Sunday afternoon, the first lady rejoined the president in Rehoboth Beach, an aide said.
