JEE Main 2016 Result will be declared on 27 April 2016 by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) New Delhi, the exam conducting authority. All the candidates who took the exam on 3, 9, and 10 April 2016 can check the result on the official website of CBSE. To make the process of checking result easier and faster, its direct link will be hosted on EntranceCorner website. It is to be noted here that CBSE will not deliver result in post or courier to any candidate. In the result, candidates will be able to see the marks obtained in physics, math, and chemistry as well as aggregate score.
Based on the marks obtained in JEE Main 2016 Result , a rank will be assigned to them on four different levels – all India, all India categorical, state, and state categorical. Declaration of rank will be done in the 1st week of June 2016. Higher the score means lower the rank which in turn means better performance. As the admissions in participating institutes will be done on the basis of merit, more the score is more is the chance of getting desired college. The question paper of the exam will contain 90 questions in total, 30 each from physics, math, and chemistry.
For every correct answer, 4 marks will be given and for every incorrect answer, ¼ marks will be deducted. Hence the maximum marks that can be achieved in the JEE Main 2016 Result are 360. Once the result and rank are declared, CBSE will conduct counselling process. In this process, the candidates will fill options of colleges and B.Tech programs in the decreasing order of preference. Order of the choices once locked by the candidate cannot be altered in any condition. Allotment will be done on the basis of following factors – choices filled, availability of seats, merit ranking, and reservation norms.
JEE Main 2016 Merit List will be prepared by CBSE by ordering candidates in the decreasing order of marks. The highest scorer in the examination will be placed at rank 1; this process shall follow until the last candidate who took the exam is reached. All the participating colleges in the exam will set a cutoff to delimit the number of candidates who apply for admission. This is done for two reasons – to delimit the number of candidates and to pick the best of candidates for allotment. In case obtained score is more than or equal to the cutoff, admission will be offered.
To check JEE Main 2016 Result, candidates have to access the website and click the link relevant for result. once the link is clicked, result portal will open where information such as roll number, date of birth, and capcha image must be entered. As soon as these details are fed and submit button is pressed, result cum scorecard will be displayed on the screen from where it can be printed and preserved.
