Significance of JEE Main 2016 AIR
It is the main component to evaluate a candidate’s merit for admission in the participating institutes (SFTIs, GFTIs, IIITs, and NITs). It will be evaluated by considering JEE Main 2016 marks and marks in class XII or equivalent exam in the ratio of 60:40. Higher score in the exam will lead to lower rank in the merit list. Chances of admission in B. Tech program in the desired institute increase with low rank. The counselling committee will check merit by comparing AIR. The candidate with lower rank will get preference in not only counselling call but seat allotment as well.
