by Hitesh Joshi Digital MarketerWhat is IVF?
Invitro fertilization or IVF is an advanced procreative
technique and infertility treatment offered globally.
IVF Procedure of blending the eggs and sperm outside the
body to form a social embryo which leads to understanding a child.
What are the steps/ procedure in IVF?
The IVF Treatment is to create many embryos to increase the
chance of becoming a mother.
Step 1: Suppression
– In this step, the inactivation of normal hormonal movement
takes place. This is usually done with birth handle pills or injections.
– In this step, a partner is injected with daily doses of
follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). FSH controls the menstrual cycle and
excites the growth of eggs in the ovaries. A female simplest makes sufficient
FSH for one egg despite the fact that there are numerous eggs to be had each
month. So, by injecting excess FSH, it arouses the production of eggs.
– Further, we place a needle through the vagina to the ovary
and into the egg follicle to collect the egg using suction. The egg was then
returned to the embryologist. We make egg retrieval in the operating room under
intravenous sedation and is not uncomfortable.
– Now, the embryologist fertilizes the egg by mixing it with
the sperm in a petri-dish. Once fertilized, the embryo starts growing before
getting assigned to the uterus.
– We make this step in IVF Treatment. It is a painless and
quick process.
Depending on the patient’s age, we give a certain number of
embryos through the cervix directly into the uterus utilizing a soft plastic
catheter under ultrasound direction.

The whole of embryo transfers relies on the age of women:

Above 40 years: 1-5 embryos.
What are the advantages of IVF?
IVF Treatment provides the highest possibilities of having a
pregnancy with their eggs for women with blocked or broken fallopian tubes.
IVF can be used to improve the possibilities of conceiving
in older couples especially the with a low ovarian reserve.
Couples with male infertility treatment will have a much
higher chance of conceiving with IVF than conceiving naturally.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition in
which there is a hormonal inequality leading to irregular menstrual cycles.
Women with endometriosis, where parts of the uterus wall
grow outside the uterus, may require IVF as it has proved successful for early
ovarian failure.
Women for whom menopause has started can have IVF treatment by using donor eggs which typically have high success rates.
What are the disadvantages of IVF?
The success of IVF is not guaranteed, and patients sometimes
have to know more than one cycle of treatment before they are successful.
IVF begins with a small chance of producing side effects. Luckily,
the use of less or no drugs in natural and mild IVF series means that the
chances of receiving undesired risk of OHSS are decreased or eradicated.

Often more than one embryo is put back into the uterus and
this leads to a higher likelihood of increased pregnancies. Around 20% to 30%
of IVF fertility can result in multiple pregnancies. Multiple reproductions
carry associated health risks to mother and baby. There are higher chances of
miscarriage and premature labor.
With IVF procedure the risk of an ectopic pregnancy is high particularly in women with damaged fallopian tubes. IVF can improve the risk of prematurity and low birth weight.
