Your New Dog

You are home with your new puppy and everybody is settling-in nicely. Three days later, you walk into the kitchen and find the dog chewing on the leg of the kitchen chair. After a mild scolding, everything once again appears to fine. Ten minutes later, the tongue of your shoe is under the table and it looks like it has been put through a shredder. This is possibly the time that you should shop for nylon dog toys for your puppy.

 The Natural Way

Some people feel that nylon is not safe to be used in the construction of a dog toy. Nothing could be further from the truth. Nylon has been proven to be perfectly harmless and the cost savings is spectacular. A single bag of rawhide chews, can cost anywhere from five, to ten dollars. Some rawhides from over seas have been harmful to pets. For the cost of one bag of rawhides that might last a week, you can have one toy that will last for months, and in some cases, years.

 Stuff around the House

Sneakers are not cheap anymore. A good pair can cost well over a hundred dollars. Finding one, or both chewed-up is disheartening and maddening. This incident will require a slightly harsher scolding. Eyeglasses are another favorite of dogs for chew toys. Countless children went to school with a stabbing, tooth marked plastic, eyeglass arm digging in the sides of their heads. Slippers are another perennial favorite to be chewed-on, as well as garments, any cardboard container that at some point held food, and every doll ever made. Barbie is far more loved by dogs than by Ken.

 The Ball Route

Some dog owners, especially those who wish to train a sporting dog, turn to the time-honored tradition of tossing a tennis ball. The yellow, fuzzy ball feels good to dog’s mouth. It is perfect for absorbing an entire pound worth of slimy, dog drool. The dog will bring it back every time, even when you no longer wish to play the game. Later, when you least suspect it, the ball will leave unique, wet tracks across your legs, when the dog pushes it into your lap with its snout. It is even cuter when the ball rolled in mud, or something far worse.

 The Solution

Choose a toy that will last. Choose a toy that won’t gather filth. Choose nylon dog toys for your dog.
