Is social media or bulk email better?
It’s difficult to decide how to reach a potential customer. There is a multitude of information online with varying strategies to reach a desired demographic. This however is ignoring one crucial factor of good old-fashioned email marketing.
Now
that social media platforms have been used so much, people tend to
ignore marketing efforts more and more, feeling inundated with too
many different types of information and companies begging for them to
spend their dollars. Email is much more intimate and tends to be less
ignored than its’ social media counterpart. Once a customer has
opted in to receive email from a company, they are more apt to read
the content that is sent, and even more likely to visit a company
website.
A company that uses email blast software is more
likely to produce results than one that primarily relies on social
platforms to reach its demographics. These days, it's all too easy to
forget that emails are not a thing of the past. Most people check
their emails several times a day! A few ways to make sure that your
marketing efforts don't get lost in a bulk email folder is to notify
your potential customers that they will be receiving email from your
company and to add your name to their contact list. This not only
assures that when you send bulk email, they have a chance of being
read, but it enforces the idea that the customer is agreeing to
receive periodic emails from your company. It never hurts to have
your company name repeated to customer several times throughout your
contact with them.
Now that you've decided to pursue bulk
email marketing and chosen your email blast software, be sure that
when you send your bulk email, the content is worthy of reading. The
obvious inclusions are catchy titles, photos, links to your website
as well as any additional social media links your company has set up.
It’s also helpful to include an html free version of your content
so customers with older software can access your information.
Remember that sending bulk email has to prove worthy of your
customer’s time. Do you have a special deal you’re offering this
week? How about a contest? It’s not always a great idea to sell one
of your products with every email blast. Sometimes it is best to send
articles with worthy information that your potential customer can put
to use. This creates a trusting and long lasting relationship with
your customer so that when you do send email that includes product or
services for sale, they are more apt to click through. And that’s
what you want!
Do not forget to add bulk email marketing to
your company strategy. It is a sure fire way of keeping close tabs on
the results of your efforts. Make a plan that includes short and long
term goals with detailed ideas on how you’d like to present
yourself to potential customers with your email blasts. Good luck and
much success!
