iPhone Hacks - Software - Getting Close to Unlocking iPhone

With the iPhone news of the Apple launch, the number of
iPhone hacks have increased exponentially, putting a lot of energy into working
through iPhone software to find out where passwords and "glue" are
for a number of apps. Currently the "Holy Grail" unlocks the iPhone.
Unlocking the iPhone is actually the most desired hack and
unlocking means that iPhone can be used not only on AT&Ts but on any
network. There were a few claims that this iPhone hack was ultimately directed,
but so far it is all just rumors, but it seems that a couple is really close

An author at GigaOM claims to run all iPhone functions
except for phone, voicemail, and text features. To be honest, I don't understand
the purpose of all this, getting an iPhone hack to unlock the monster will not
work much unless you use the iPhone overseas, and on top of that, you will not
have 3G support.
Where I see value in unlocking iPhone software is that after
unlocking the iPhone we can finally use the device as a portable mini-computer
running on a wifi network, then we have something that will be useful.
In the iPhone news vine, there are not only iPhone hacks
that flow thick and fast, but also a number of fully inflated web apps that I
have to say are quite impressive - well-made kids! Probably the best right now
is the iPhone hack "iChat for iPhone", which provides instant
capability on AIM. More than that, the iPhone software source can be used for
this hack and you can host it on your own machine. If you are really serious
about unlocking iPhone and staying up to date on iPhone hacks, check out iPhone
Giant Wiki, which seems to be the closest to getting an iPhone to unlock hack.
iPhone software that you can download to your new iPhone can
be found in iPhone Apps on the web. Here you will find all the iPhone software
and apps like the weather and more games than you can swing a stick.
Unfortunately, until we get an iPhone hack that will open iPhone to third-party
applications, we will have to do it with Apple iPhone software, which we are
currently allowed to play.
