iPhone 7: Sapphire Display, better battery and no Home button?

If one can assume anything from the iPhone 7, it is that it would be significantly different and better than its predecessors. Why, you ask? For starters, the fact that the 6S and 6S Plus turned out to be slightly upgraded models of the 6 and 6 Plus is a dead giveaway. Unless of course, Apple wants to lose its loyal army.

According to the recent batch of rumors, it has been suggested that the iPhone 7 will not have the standard Home button, a hardware feature, quintessential of an iPhone. Another upgrade rumored to take place is the usage of a “Sapphire Display”, as well as an improved battery life. Fr those who don’t know, Sapphire Display is one of the key features of the Apple Watch.

Gene Munster, who is a rather recognized industry pundit, thinks that the iPhone 7’s design would be one aimed at grabbing attention, thereby adding fuel to fire. It is expected that there would be a significant overhaul in terms of the iPhone 7’s design. Of course, with enhancements like 3D Touch, the removal of the Home button seems like a natural progression. Some are even suggesting that the iPhone 7 could have a larger display (with the Home button gone, that can be done without making the device bulky).

 

According to sources like SmartIO among other speculations is the relocation of the Touch ID sensor, perhaps to the side of the device, not much different to the newly-released Sony Xperia Z5. Munster also stated that there is a 50 per cent chance that Apple might do away with the physical Home button. Of course, that’s really not much help.

A common string between the iPhone 7 and its older brothers is, however, going to be in the soft features. For instances, most of the phone functions would be common, as well as the access to applications, such as content transfer apps, would remain.  According to Venture Beat, the iPhone 7 could house the 7630 LTE modem by Intel. The company has been working on the iPhone’s battery, which expected to produce great results. You excited yet?
