iPhone 7 rumored to boast a 14% larger battery than the iPhone 6S

It’s that time of the day, when a new iPhone 7 rumor starts floating the blogosphere. While there are a lot of things that have been speculated about the next Apple smartphone, a lot of people are still wondering about battery size and management. In the past, it had been suggested that the new iPhone’s battery might be “slightly” bigger than its predecessor. However, if latest rumors are anything to go by, it seems the iPhone 7’s battery will be a lot bigger than expected.

Infamous Twitter leakster, OnLeaks, has floated around the claims that the iPhone 7 will boast a 1960mAh battery. For anyone who needs to jog their memory, the battery found in the iPhone 6S was of 1715mAh. Unlike last time, when the iPhone 6S had a downgraded battery compared to the iPhone 6 (1810mAh), many are just happy to see an upgrade in the battery department.

Of course, a bigger battery means better battery life, but that is if everything else remains constant. Of course, one can expect changes in internal components, which may or may not be more power-hungry, so it’s difficult to assess the situation.

According to experts like SmartIO and more. The status of the iPhone 7 Plus (in the battery department) is still unclear, however, if it is expected to receive the same boost (14.2 percent), it could go from having a 2750mAh battery to a 3140mAh one. However, that’s pretty unlikely.

It’s understandable why Apple is working towards improved battery life. Apple users have been calling for an improvement in that department for a while now. Seems like playing all those games and transferring content using content transfer apps is now going to be less intense on the power source.

Of course, you could also choose to completely ignore this nugget of information as one of the many rumors that float the internet on the daily. However, considering the track record of OnLeaks, we wouldn’t ignore it completely. Hooray for better battery life, we hope!
