Instead of using optical image stabilization (OIS) like previous generations, the new iPhone 12 camera will incorporate Sensor Shift stabilization technology similar to some DSLR cameras (digital cameras).
According to a source at Digitimes, Apple will add Sensor Shift stabilization support to the iPhone 2020. An improvement compared to the current OIS feature. With Sensor Shift, when the camera is active, the sensor will move to receive light and eliminate vibrations. Professional camera manufacturers such as Sony and Olympus are using this technology on their digital cameras.
