by Aida Martin Norton Setup

The Apple’s Photos app has received some attractive and amazing updates in iOS 11, but does the iOS 12 have actually what it takes to one-up during last year’s Photos improvements? We think about it once.

However, the Photos interface has not changed a whole lot since it’s a big facelift in iOS 7, but it has been greatly improved features. The changes in the iOS 12 will only affect the UI slightly, so it absolutely won’t be a strident experience to open up the Photos just after installing iOS 12 on your iPhone. But you will have more benefits with these new features, including finding photos in large libraries by faster to changing the way you share videos and snapshots with friends and families.

1- Memories & Shared Option is Now ‘For You’

One smallest UI change in iOS 12 Photos app is that the “Memories” and “Shared” option are replaced by a single “For You” option. This newest option houses your memories and will share album activities, and also offers some other goodies, as you will be soon to see.

2- Featured Photos & Effects Suggestions

Apart from memories and shared album activity option, the latest “For You” option also explains off what Apple actually calls “Featured Photos” and “Effect Suggestions.” Now you should have a look on some of the best videos and photos in your phone library, and there will be some proposed effects such as long exposure,  bounce, and loop. iCloud Photos might need to be enabled for this feature.

3- Sharing Pictures & Videos is Easier

The latest “For You” option also provides some helpful sharing options for the time when you were on a trip, went to an event, or hung out at a friend’s house, and also some other meaningful group activities. Though, iCloud Photos needs to be enabled for this feature.

Under the new Sharing Suggestions section, iOS establishes which of your contacts will appear in the photos and videos, then recommend you to share the albums with them.

4- Intelligent Search Suggestions

Search doesn’t easily get its option, but it has some improved capabilities. Foremost in the list of search enhancements, it is a very smart suggestion. Whenever a user starts typing into the search box option, then will immediately be shown some related results before you finish the typing. These suggestions might be events, people, relative dates, and places.

While you might get the text suggestions before, but now you can truly see matching photos, moments, categories, memories, and places. And after typing out your whole query you still can’t even find out what you are looking for, the search will suggest some keywords that will closely look like what you were typed to help you in finding the related content.

5- Search Photos by Place

While there was a little of this in Photos, but now you can accurately search for the videos and photos that were taken in a specific business or place, such as “Starbucks,” or generally the “coffee shops.”

6- Search Photos by Event

It is not just the places that have improved in the search option; you can now also search for the actual events,

7- Get More Options When Importing

It is not applied for all, but if you tend to import some photos and videos from your DSLR so that you can easily put them on Instagram, Snapchat, or other social networking sites you want, then the import screen has slightly changed. For instance, you could have to choose the album to import all photos and videos into or even need to create a new album, instead of having them sent to their common catch-all albums.
