by Visa Consultant Immigration ExpertThe first term that comes across to those who
plan to plan to immigrate
to Canada, or those who are related to Canada immigration is the Express
Entry. It is an economic immigration program designed to attract the young
people who possess the talent that is of prominence in Canada and they will
take drive Canada’s economy towards growth and progression. It is an online
system of managing the applications of the interested immigrations under three
categories, namely, Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled
Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
To begin with any of the pathway to migrate to
Canada, the applicant must ensure that his/her qualifications and skills are
required in Canada as per the Canada NOC List. This National Occupation Classification (NOC)
list is maintained to give applicants a fair idea of the occupation in demand
in Canada. They should proceed with their process, only if they qualify to be
an eligible candidate as per this list.
In the three categories that are mentioned
above, all them of requires the applicant to have working experience in any of
the NOCs. For Canadian Experience Class, one year of experience is necessary,
however in Federal Skilled Worker and Federal Skilled Trades programs, Canadian
or foreign experience both are acceptable. The amount of work experience that
is required also differs. For CEC, it has to be one year in Canada in the last 3
years (either combination of full-time or part-time work). In FSWP, the
applicant must work for one year continuously within the last 10 years
(combination of part-time, full-time or more than 1 job in your primary
occupation). However, in FSTP, two years of work experience is required within
last 5 years (either combination of full-time or part-time work).
In Canadian Experience Class as well as Federal
Skilled Workers Program, a job offer is not necessary, but in Federal Skilled
Trades Program, a valid job offer is a requirement to apply. Education is not a
criteria under CEC and FSTP, however, minimum of secondary education is
required to apply under the FSWP category of the Express Entry.
The Express Entry is a merit based immigration
system where the applicants are ranked on the basis of the points they get on
factors like age, education, work experience, language proficiency and others.
The points can be calculated using the Canada Points Calculator which is easily available
on the Internet. It gives the candidates a fair idea of their chances to be
able to immigrate to
Canada.
