Instagram INTRODUCING NEW FEATURE: rolls

by William Roy Digital Marketing Services
Let's face it, 2020 has been a year ticktock. Chinese-built, the phenomenon of social media has become one of the most popular social networking platform for Gen Z and Millennial audiences. With Digital Marketing Agencies Newcastle more than 800 million active users around the world, this platform saw greater growth during the lockdown period. Boasting the availability in 154 countries, these applications have taken the world by storm and become a social media network of choice for many young users of social media.

In a game that may follow, Instagram has worked on short form video sharing features of their own, and on August 5, introduced us to Instagram rolls. You can see the post COO Facebook / Instagram Sheryl Sandberg made on her personal instagram profile announced rolls here.

A side note - back in 2018, Facebook attempted to launch Lasso, new applications in direct competition with the ticktock. People just do not use it and Facebook removed the application. However, with regard to how Lasso fail, Facebook given the opportunity to get a lot of data that has the possibility of triggering the creation of Instagram 'rolls'.

Instagram features new 'rolls' is described as "a new way to create and find a short, entertaining video on Instagram". This is definitely going to act in direct competition to the ticktock so it is a smart move from Instagram to keep spectators and involvement in existing applications. In many ways, this is similar to what they did in 2016 when they introduced the story is in direct competition with Snapchat.

SO WHAT Instagram rolls?
Instagram rolls invites users to create a 15 second video to share with friends, family and fans. Similar to the ticktock, features including audio, effects and new creative editing tools to help users creativity run wild.

Users can share their creations on their story, with followers in the News Feed. Or, if they have a public account, they can choose to share with the wider community in the Explore page. Instagram claims that this feature offers anyone the opportunity to become the creator and reach a new global audience and we have to agree. This is another way to get creative on the platform Instagram.

HOW TO CREATE A REEL Instagram?
Want to follow the trend and show everyone you know? How about just using a new feature on the reels to create some new fun content for channel business. You can find by clicking the camera rolls feature story on the top left of your screen and sliding at the bottom of the function Reel. The rolls can be made by combining a series of clips, recorded either in real time or uploaded from a photo gallery. Some editing tools can be found on the left side of the screen.

THIS INCLUDES:
Audio: This tool allows users to search the music library Instagram or use their own audio. When public users sharing reel with original audio, it is associated with the user and can then be used by other creators by clicking 'Use Audio'. This function works ticktock echoes that allows users to create, share and borrowed sounds in the application.
AR Effect: Similar to the ticktock, spacious galleries that effect has been curated by Instagram and creators worldwide. This allows the user to select an effect from the menu to stand out from the crowd. We are seeing an increasing number of businesses using AR effect - something that we can write about in a future blog post.
And Countdown Timer: Second timers and rewind can be used on Instagram rolls, more tiktok mirroring features. Users can set the timer to record hands-free clip with playing countdown before recording starts.
Alignment: the alignment tool is a Digital Marketing Company in Newcastle clever addition of Instagram. They have seen the success of the video contains a 'transition' on tiktok and copied. This will help the user in producing a smooth transition by lining up objects from the previous clip before recording.
