Inside a logo designer’s mind

by Alice Smith Professional Writer

LOGO is a visual interpretation of an idea or thought. From where does any thought or idea comes? Do you have any idea? From heaven, sky, ocean, fire, earth, what else we had before we took birth? You go to a monk and ask the same, he will tell you it’s you, your mind is the only source of information or idea we have in our lives. Us humans, we are driven by our senses and all the processing happens inside our mind. Now we know it’s all our minds where the ideas come, the question is how we can share our thoughts with other people. People earlier started making patterns, illustrations on rocks, wood, leaves because they realized the fact that our brain triggers certain thoughts inside when we look at different patterns. Our eyes being the utmost sensory organ, a blessing I would say tells our brain to generate certain thoughts about that particular design or pattern. If the pattern is abstract, it's new, we can have any random thought about it but what if the pattern has got a history, the majority of the thoughts inside your mind are going to be the same as other people already have. It’s all magic, try to realize the power of logos(kinda pattern) when it comes to marketing and sales. Can you relate to me? Just by making a logo one can fuse or trigger certain thoughts inside someone else's mind and what thoughts do? Thoughts turn to actions. Here action involves making your customer to buy your service and products. It’s an art and the artist who does it becomes a logo designer. Once a logo is designed it needs to get printed. To copy and print in Seattle you can do a little bit of research first, to find the best services at a reasonable price.

How a logo designer ends up picking a specific type of logo for any company?

If it’s a new company or a startup all they want is to let people spell their company's name every time they see their logo. This type of logo is called a Wordmark. Logos like google, yahoo, facebook, visa, coca-cola, etc fit into this category. Logo designers insist on new companies for that until they become a well-known brand. Once a company has made a brand value, logo designers insist those companies to go for Pictorial logo like apple, twitter, mozilla firefox, etc. Then there is an Abstract logo, which is very unique and one must have a huge brand value to let people know your unique logo design. Then there is another category of logos called Emblem which is mostly used by universities to showcase their motto.

Does the color of your logo matter?

A color is a particular frequency that our eyes capture and sends the information further to our brain. Now each frequency triggers the brain in a different way. Red represents emotions, blue represents confidence, yellow represents freshness, green represents calmness, purple represents royalty, orange represents creativityblack represents discipline, pink represents love, brown represents grounding. Can you notice something? Can you see the magic of mother nature? How feelings that we have for natural things surrounding us are mapped inside the human brain. A logo designer should know the hidden emotions behind your brand, only then he or she will be able to give colors to your logo which is going to make people feel about your company.

Nothing is permanent, neither your philosophy nor your logo?

Take any big company around the market they all have started from a fundamental philosophy which got evolved during times. Nothing is permanent, culture evolves, people evolve the idea behind any organization also changes. It means your logo should also change with time. Once a logo is designed by a designer it’s ready to get printed in posters, banners, flyers, etc. To create a personal touch one must go for flyer printing in Seattleit’s very helpful to market to our brands.
