Innovator Jignesh Shah aligns his growth goals with PM Modi's vision
by Shruti Sharma Content CuratorPrime Minister Narendra Modi
launched the Make in India initiative, with the primary goal of making India a
global manufacturing hub, by encouraging both multinational as well as domestic
companies to manufacture their products within the country. Led by the
Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, the initiative aims to raise the
contribution of the manufacturing sector to 25% of the GDP by the year 2025
from its current 16%. Make in India has introduced multiple new initiatives,
promoting foreign direct investment, implementing intellectual property rights
and developing the manufacturing sector.
It targets 25 sectors of the
economy which range from automobile to Information Technology (IT) &
Business Process Management (BPM). It also seeks to facilitate job creation,
foster innovation, enhance skill development and protect intellectual property.
The logo of ‘Make in India’ – a lion made of gear wheels – itself reflects the
integral role of manufacturing in government’s vision and national development.
Innovator Jignesh Shah, the
chairman emeritus of 63 moons technologies Ltd moulded and cherished a business
model that made India the world's second-largest marketplace in commodities
trading. He now sees 100 times bigger business potential in the start-up
ecosystem after having set up 10 exchange companies across six continents in a
span of ten years in his earlier stint and feels he can create 10 crore jobs
over the next decade for the country’s youth.
While enriching himself as a
by-product, he wanted to empower the nation by providing job opportunities to
millions of people. His idea of developing the nation was by providing
employment to its citizens.
Jignesh Shah has been following the vision of Digital
India that has been reinvigorated by PM Modi after his advent to power. These
developments are certainly going to uplift the fortunes of millions of upcoming
entrepreneurs and digitally skilled youths in India.
