A green car is an environment friendly vehicle, which runs on alternative fuel rather than conventional fuel. This term is assigned to vehicles, which usually comply with the European emission standards (Euro-6) or California’s zero emissions vehicle standards such as (ZEV, ULEV, SULEV, and PZEV). Green car blogs provide information related to eco cars, hydrogen cars, low emission cars, advantages and the disadvantages of using bio fuel, reviews and buying guides. Alternative fuels are derived from sources other than petroleum. Some are produced domestically, reducing the dependence on oil imports while others are derived from renewable sources of energy. These eco friendly fuels produce less pollution than gasoline or fuel. Some of the popular sources of alternative fuel are discussed below:

 Ethanol: Ethanol is produced from corn and other crops and  emits less green house gases. It is considered as a suitable alternative to petroleum based products.

 Biodiesel: This fuel is derived from vegetable oils and animal fats. It usually produces less air pollutants than gasoline.

 Natural Gas: Popularly known as CNG or Compressed Natural Gas, this is used in many countries as an alternative to conventional fuels. CNG is used in cars and in public transport.

 Propane: Known as LPG, it is the most widely used domestic fuel worldwide. LPG is also used as a fuel for cars, as it generates less harmful air pollutants and greenhouse gases.

 Hydrogen: Hydrogen or H2 can be produced domestically from fossil fuels like coal, nuclear power or other renewable sources like hydropower. Fuel cell vehicles powered by pure hydrogen do not emit any harmful air pollutant.
