Indian U-17 World Cup team to participate in exhibition matches
The preparations for the FIFA U-17 World Cup are in full swing in India. With the FIFA U-17 World all set to begin in the country, the host nation has already started to get ready. Under the guidance of coach Nicolai Adam, the team has already participated in practice matches in foreign territory.
But currently, the exhibition matches are all set to begin in India where the U-17 World Cup team will take on the Combined IFA XI and North East XI. The All India Football Federation has implemented several steps for spreading the game extensively in the country.
As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has taken substantial initiative in bringing the game to the country. Already the countdown to the World Cup has begun with new venues being finalized for this major event.
It is very important to scout the right footballing talent from the country and make them more competitive for modern day football. It is also quite crucial to build a side for the future and the players from the U-17 World Cup team can be roped into the senior squad as well.
Both the senior coach Stephen Constantine and the junior coach Nicolai Adam have emphasized on the presence of a very strong scouting system. As per the director of scouting of AIFF, Abhisekh Yadav, “The aim of these matches is to build a fool-proof scouting system and if any Player catches our eye, we will immediately send him for medical tests and rope him into the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad.”
“As part of the second phase of scouting, these matches will also help us get a better look of Players from all over India. We are specifically looking for 2000 born kids to play in these exhibition matches.”
