Increase the Fertility and Nutrient Quantity of Soil with Soil Conditioner

by Kritika Agarwal Satisfy our customers
A soil conditioner is widely added to the soil in order to enhance the fertility as well as mechanics of the soil. The name itself indicates that it is composed of a wide range of non-organic materials as well as fertilizers. The main purpose of the soil conditioners is that it improves the quality of the poor soils or have the ability to rebuild the soils that are generally damaged due to improper soil management. However, the organic soil conditioners in India can make the poor soils even more usable and at the same time maintain the soil condition at the highest level.

Composition
Owing to the property of enhancing the soil quality, there are a wide variety of materials being used as a soil conditioner. These include bone meal, blood meal, biochar, coffee grounds, coir, manure, compost, compost tea, straw, moss, vermiculite, peat, sphagnum sulfur, and biosolids. There are several soil conditioners that are available in the form of certified organic products and are majorly used to maintain organic crops or organic gardens.

Purpose
Following are the major purpose of using organic soil conditioners:
• Improve Soil structure: The major purpose of using organic soil conditioner is to enhance the structure of the soil. After a certain period of time, the soil tends to become compact which restricts the growth of root, the ability of the plant to take up the water and nutrients etc. In such case, soil conditioners add more texture to keep the soil loose.
• Increase Soil nutrients: It supports healthy plant growth. These include peat, clay as well as compost. These organic soil conditioners add nutrients like nitrogen, carbon as well as beneficial bacteria.
• Cation exchange: The cation exchange capacity of the soil can also be increased by organic soil conditioners, as it acts as the storehouse of the plant nutrients. Calcium, magnesium, potassium, ammonium, hydrogen, and sodium are some of the most common components of soil.
• Water retention: The organic soil conditioner is also helpful in increasing the water retention of the soil which is coarse and dry as well as does not have the ability to hold water.

The organic soil conditioner manufacturers ensure that all essential nutrients are added to the conditioner in order to enhance the quality of the soil.
Thus, to conclude, the addition of the organic material greatly improve the water retention abilities of sandy soils and they can be added to adjust the pH of the soil in order to meet the specific needs or to make highly acidic or alkaline soils more usable.
