Post the white revolution, several milk brands in India are coming into picture. They claim of selling organic milk but not all of them deliver what they say. However, if you are able to get hold of the organic farm milk, then there can be nothing better than that.

Let’s find out about the important nutrients present in cow milk provided by milk brands in India.

Number one nutrient present in cow milk is lactose. Lactose or the milk sugar is the major carbohydrate content in the milk. Several studies have concluded that children who drink the lactose rich milk are protected from neural disorders. Besides, milk also has other necessary sugars like Galactose and Glucose. Other types of sugars are also present in small traces in cow’s milk. Milk has about 4.9 percent lactose content in it.

Second nutrient present in the milk is protein. Protein content in the milk has a variety of essential amino acids. The content of amino acids in the protein is 51%. One important protein found in the cow milk is casein. It is exclusive to cow milk and is precipitated at pH 4.6. Milk also has whey proteins.

Third nutrient present in the milk is milk fat. This fat is easily digestible by the human body and its digestibility is even better than other fats and oils since it is present in the aqueous phase and forms emulsions. This fat is necessary for increasing the energy density in the body. One key benefit of this milk fat is that it forms a robust coating over the enamel thereby protecting your teeth from decay.

Fourth nutrient found in the milk is vitamins. Some of the noted vitamins found in the cow milk are Vitamin A, D, E and K. Besides these, there are also various water soluble vitamins present in the milk. Some of the water soluble nutrients present in the milk are Pantothenic Acid, B2 (riboflavin), Choline, Biotin, Niacin (nicotinic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), Ascorbic acid, Inositol, B1 (thiamine), Folic acid, B12, and Para-amino benzoic acid.

Last but not the least milk is a rich source of some of the essential minerals. Some minerals that can be attained from the regular consumption of milk are found in form of chlorides.

It is important to note that we have been consuming milk since ancient times. Organic cow milk has often been equated to the Nectar or 'Amrut'. It is because milk is rich in the above essential nutrients that are helpful for the growth and development of the body.

Considering the above nutrients found in the milk, cow milk is considered to be the best milk in India.
