IBPS PO 2016 Exam Will Be Conducted In October 2016
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts the IBPS PO 2016 Exam to recruit potential candidates for the posts of Probationary Officers (PO) in participating banks and financial institution. The Common Recruitment process aims at laying out a selection process to facilitate the recruitment of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees by conducting a three tier process which includes a Preliminary exam, Mains Exam and interview round. The candidates must clear each level of the selection problem to qualify for the next round of selection. IBPS PO 2016 Exam is a national level exam and has the following stages –
1. Common Written Exam (Prelims & Mains)
2. Verification of documents
3. Personal interview round
4. Final allotment
IBPS PO Exam Eligibility Criteria
1. SC/ST – 5 Years
2. PWD – 10 Years
3. OBC/NCL – 3 years
4. Ex Servicemen – 5 Years
5. Domiciled in J&K during 01.01.80 to 31.12.89 – 5 Years
6. Affected by 1984 riots – 5 Years
Application Procedure
1. SC/ST/PWD – Rs. 100
2. Others – Rs. 600

IBPS PO Exam Eligibility Criteria
- The candidates must have completed their graduation from a recognized University.
- The candidates must be between 20 – 30 years of age.
- There is age relaxation given for the various categories of the candidates by the IBPS as follows –
1. SC/ST – 5 Years
2. PWD – 10 Years
3. OBC/NCL – 3 years
4. Ex Servicemen – 5 Years
5. Domiciled in J&K during 01.01.80 to 31.12.89 – 5 Years
6. Affected by 1984 riots – 5 Years
Application Procedure
- The IBPS PO 2016 Exam application form has been released in the form of an online application form which can be filled by candidates who meet the eligibility requirements.
- Make sure you have a scanned copy of your photograph and signature, a valid email id and a credit card/debit card and net banking details before you proceed to the online application form.
- The application fee for different categories is as follows –
1. SC/ST/PWD – Rs. 100
2. Others – Rs. 600
- The online application form was released on 10th July 2016.
IBPS PO 2016 Selection Procedure
- The IBPS PO 2016 Preliminary Exam is a 100 marks paper of 1 hour duration. This paper consists of 3 subjects. The three subjects that consist of the Preliminary Exam are –
1. English Language
2. Quantitative aptitude
3. Reasoning ability
- The main examination is for 200 marks. The Mains exam has 5 subjects –
1. Reasoning
2. English Language
3. Quantitative Aptitude
4. General Awareness
5. Computer Knowledge
Only those who pass the IBPS PO 2016 Prelims qualify for the mains.
- The candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of their marks in the Mains will then be called for personal interviews. This will be conducted by the participating banks with the help of IBPS. The interview will be for 100 marks
- The candidates will then be selected on their combined scores in the Mains exam and the interview round.
