IBPS PO 2016: On 26 June 2016 the recruitment notification for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for the post of Probationary Office and Management Trainee was released. The Preliminary IBPS PO Exam 2016 is scheduled to be held on 03, 04, 10 & 11 October 2016. The candidates qualifying in the preliminary exam will be eligible to appear for the IBPS PO Mains exam. The Mains IBPS PO 2016 Exam is scheduled to be held on 31 October 2016.

Eligibility Criteria for IPBS PO 2016 Exam

The eligibility criteria of the aspirants to be eligible to appear in the exam is-

  • The candidates appearing for IBPS PO must be a graduate with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% for ST/SC Category).


  • The minimum age limit is 21 years and the minimum age limit is 30 years.


  • The aspirants must have an Indian Nationality or should be a Nepalese or a Bhutanese or a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962. The Indian origin candidates migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma or from East African countries to settle permanently in India are also eligible.

IBPS PO Exam 2016 Model

  • The duration for Prelims and Mains IBPS PO 2016 Exam is 1 hour and 2 hours respectively.


  • The exam will be objective based and will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).


  • Both the Prelims and Mains will have negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.


  • The Prelims paper will contain questions from English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and reasoning ability. And the total marks will be 100.


  • The Mains paper will contain questions from Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry) and Computer Knowledge.


  • And the last round for IBPS PO Exam 2016 is the Interview process. The Interviews will be conducted by Participating Organizations and the Nodal Bank in each state or UT will coordinate it. The venue list for the Interview process will be released later here.

IBPS PO 2016 Selection Procedure

The selection process for IBPS PO 2016 is as follows-

  • The candidates are required to qualify in each round for final selection.


  • The candidates will be recruited on the basis of their marks in both the written exam and in the Interview process.


  • The final recruitment will be done after the verification of documents.
