I Miss My Lunchtime Workout Near The Office

by Neighborhood Trainers Finding a trainer is a personal choice

You never know how much you’ll miss something until it’s gone. This phrase has been running through my mind ever since the United States declared a national pandemic and the world went into quarantine. I’ve been working at home for several months and one thing I never thought I would miss is my lunchtime workout.

It sounds odd, but it can be difficult to make time to exercise in between all the errands and tasks that need to be taken care of before and after work. Since quarantine measures were put in place, though, I’ve found a new routine that works for me. I exercise while I work.

It’s not as hard as it sounds to fit in a solid workout while getting work done, but there are some things you should keep in mind if your goal is to fit exercise in while working from home.

Always Put Work First

Even though your health and fitness is a priority, you should always make sure that your work gets done. You may be more likely to get interrupted while taking exercise breaks, so patience will be required as you begin fitting workouts into your work routine. Your workouts may also get pushed back, but you should avoid using that as an excuse to skip exercising.

Change Your Snacking Habits

You won’t be able to move as much if you have a large and heavy lunchtime meal, so your meals and snacks will need to be adjusted as you introduce workouts to your routine. Start by replacing junk foods with fresh fruits and vegetables and making sure you stay hydrated. You can also work with a nutritionist Brooklyn professional, who can suggest beneficial changes that aid in making workouts more effective.

Do Online Workouts

If you don’t want to leave your desk unattended, which is a good idea if you’re not on a break, watch workout videos online. You can watch various videos and move along with the instructors. Online personal trainers can post videos as well, so you get a customized exercise program that can be done in between phone calls or emails.

Working from home doesn’t mean that you can no longer get work done during your workday. Instead, you’ll have to change things up a bit and make your routine more manageable. When you put your work first, change up your snacking habits, and take advantage of online workouts, you’ll find that it’s just as effective as a lunchtime workout.
