Hypnosis; Only an Illusion or a Motivation Booster?

by Sarah Peter Contributor

Introduction:

Many people tend to mock the concept of hypnosis since it is associated with magic and illusions. However, hypnosis is also a very useful tool in promoting personal growth and development. Personal development hypnosis is highly different to the literal hypnosis, as it does not involve a person being controlled or illusioned by someone else. This practice involves a person practicing the act themselves for relaxation and to counter their own fears.

How does Personal Development Hypnosis Affect a Person?

By practicing self-hypnosis, a person can address their deepest issues and fears, to which they can deal with in order to prevent them from sabotaging a person’s development or dreams. Many people use audio personal development hypnosis, which is a practice that deals with a person’s fears, through using motivational and countering phrases and advice. For many people, this is the most major inspiration, as they may lack such validation from their family members and loved ones.

What is the Process of This Form of Hypnosis?

Even though there are several ways to carry out this procedure, but for people who are attempting it for the first time, here’s a simple guide:

1.       Stating your Goal:

For the first step, you can outline and write the goal which you wish to achieve. You must state it positively and, in a manner, which depicts that you can attain it.

2.       Isolation:

Then, you must find a calm and relaxing location where you can sit and relax without any interruption. Silence is important since you will have to maintain the maximum level of concentration. Thus, avoid choosing a place where people, tv’s, devices or any other noisy things are present.

3.       Sit Still:

Many people choose to lay down in order to carry out the personal development hypnosis, however, this can be an ineffective decision as it can make you drowsy. The best way is to sit still and to take deep breaths. Take 3 deep breaths and close your eyes on the third one.

4.       Repeat:

The key to an effective hypnosis is to repeat your key aim which you designed in step 1. You must repeat the statement without any disturbance, and continue saying it until you feel that you have nothing else on mind other than that.

5.       Imagine:

You must then visualize that central fear and use your imagination to counter it in the way that you designed in step 1. By doing so, you will be able to mentally prepare yourself to deal with that particular fear or issue.

6.       Break-Out:

Once you feel that you’ve achieved the confidence to deal with that issue, you can break out of the personal development hypnosis. Break-Out simply by convincing yourself that you’ve done well and are now ready to face your greatest fear.
