Strella Hall: “I try to take good care of my mental health at any rate. It’s high time we give mental well-being the attention it deserves. This lockdown and period of endless home quarantine made everything gloomy for me and everyone in my family. My family consists of me, my husband, my two sons, and one dog. I hardly go outside these days except for medical appointments and taking my dog out for regular walks, that’s it. Going out with a mask is very suffocating, to say the least. Upon that, it’s very boring to stay inside the home so much. So, to keep myself sane, I read books almost every day. To be more productive, I watch informative videos on health, pregnancy, parenting, and cooking. I spend time with my family and my dog. This is how it goes for me these days”.

Judith Geldart: “I wanted my pregnancy to be an amazing and a joyful ride but sadly, Corona happened and ruined all my plans for pregnancy. I could not even throw a proper pregnancy announcement and was very much disturbed and disappointed due to that. Even my mental health started deteriorating and I stopped enjoying my pregnancy altogether. But I’m trying to cope in various ways. I have started taking online counselling from my therapist regularly. I do yoga and meditation for an hour every night and I have started to count my blessings. Things are better than they were before and I am grateful for that. Hoping to make myself more mentally strong for my baby. I would like to advise all expecting mothers to ask for help whenever they need it without any hesitation”.

Polly Lewis: “I do a lot of things to make myself happy and healthy. I do things that make me happy, like knitting, cooking, and gardening. These activities keep me occupied for many hours. I also watch movies, mostly comedy films to keep my mood cheerful. I avoid unnecessary fights and try to keep myself cool all the time. I write my diary every night before going to bed religiously and I believe that’s the secret of my positive attitude towards life. I think it’s the individual’s responsibility to keep himself or herself happy and positive during difficult times. Instead of complaining, one should focus on the good”.
