Avast is popular antivirus software recognized for the excellent protection it has to offer, but at times the software may mark a safe file as a false one in case it contains a virus signature in its database. On the other hand, Avast provides the user an option to submit a file as safe to them. You can do the same by following a series of steps or acquire professional help by calling at Avast antivirus technical support number

There are two ways in which the file can be submitted as safe to Avast:

From the user console

  • Start by right clicking the icon of Avast!, which lies in the lower right corner of system tray.
  • Click on ‘Open Avast User Interface”.
  • Click on ‘Maintenance’.
  • Click on ‘Virus Chest’.
  • No right click on the file, followed by clicking ‘Submit to Virus Lab” or ‘Submit to ALWIL Software’ as applicable in your case.
  • From the Type box, select ‘False Positive’.
  • In the ‘File belongs to the following program’, enter as much information as you can. If the program has been taken from a reputable source, check the box ‘This program comes from a trusted source’.
  • There is a specialized box in which you can enter any additional information you would need to.
  • In case you want the company to get in touch with you for any questions related to the submission. Enter your mail address.
  • Finally check the box next to ‘I know what I’m doing’ and then click ‘Submit’.

Via Email

  • Compress the file into a zip file which has been protected with a password. People who use Windows Vista or 7 would require a third party program such as WinRAR or WinZip for protecting the file with a password as these versions do not provide this built-in feature.
  • Then pull the email program, followed by opening a new message which is addressed to virus@avast.com.
  • Include the password of the zip file in the body of the mail and also submit that the file is safe.
  • Finally, send the message with the zip file as attachment.

If you are unable to carry out the task with these steps, you can try to connect to Avast antivirus Customer Service number to get expert advice on the same. However, in the event of non availability of the number, access an alternative number from online directories such as Contactforhelp.
