How to Select a Corporate Event Venue

by Kevin Smith Author

Event venues in Atlanta, GA, offer many amenities for corporate events. When it comes to selecting the perfect venue for your company’s big event, here are a few things you should consider.

Meeting Space

The first step in planning your corporate function is to determine the type of event. This will ultimately determine the type of venue you need. Will you be hosting a holiday party, training seminar, or marketing event? For celebrations, looks for ballroom-style venues with a dancefloor and the ability to accommodate a DJ or live music. For corporate training or educational seminars, make sure the venue has projection hookups for multimedia presentations. Make sure the venue also has plenty of tables and chairs; you’ll need these for sit-down dining, buffet tables, or showcasing products. When it comes to supplying meals for your event, a venue that does on-site catering is a plus. It's usually more cost-effective compared to off-site catering and they usually have a wider menu selection.

Accommodations

For out-of-town guests or multi-day events, make sure to consider local hotel accommodations. Resort venues with on-site lodging are always preferred because they're more convenient. Guests don’t have to worry about renting a car to get around town. They simply walk downstairs or across the property to the event. On-site lodging not only saves you and your guests' money on transportation costs, but they also encourage networking by keeping all of your guest in one general area.

Entertainment

When your guests aren’t attending your event, they might take in the local entertainment. As you narrow down your list of possible venues, consider their proximity to local attractions. Golf courses are guaranteed to please business executives while families and nature enthusiasts will enjoy the local parks. Do a little research ahead of time and make sure there's something for everybody to enjoy. Consider including this information with your event invitation. Many venues will also offer discounts on local attractions when you and your guests book your stay with them.

Team-Building

For corporate events, use your venue’s amenities to promote team-building. Attractions like zip-lining, hiking, and boating can also serve as team-building experiences. Properties with outdoor field space are also perfect for hosting corporate sporting events, drawing other businesses and clients around the surrounding area.

By considering these important features when planning your corporate event, you’re sure to find the best event venues in Atlanta, GA.
