How to search for a job if you are planning to move abroad - Part 1

by Paul Rudd Search Engine Optimization

One major reason why people decide to move abroad, with the help of an efficient overseas removal company, is for getting better career opportunities. If you are thinking about moving abroad for this very reason, then you would probably have identified some methods that would help you secure a job overseas; some, not all. But if you are moving abroad for other reasons, then you would probably be unaware of how to search for and get a good job overseas, as you would also be about other crucial matters such as how to identify the best international moving companies, how to verify if you have been given reasonable long distance moving quotes, etc. This three-part blog series, however, focuses solely on helping you find a job abroad. Read on to find out just how!

1. Get in touch with a recruiter

Recruiters have an established network and they know about a lot of vacancies, it is their job after all. So get in touch with a recruiter who operates out of the city you want to move to and your chances of securing an interview or two would go up astronomically.

2. Hit job sites

Just like you have naukri.com and shine.com in India, you would find dedicated websites for job seekers in every country. So hit these websites to find jobs that match your skills and requirements. LinkedIn is also a great place to search for jobs, provided you have built a decent network on the community.

3. Tap into unpublished sources

While you would find a lot of job postings in classifieds and on the internet, there are many job vacancies that are not posted in the newspapers and online. So you would need to rely on word-of-mouth to know about them. While it does sound difficult to do so, you can start by getting in touch with your friends, school mates, or colleagues who have settled in the country you wish to move to. This will give you a headstart in this regard.

4. Do your research

Just like you would do a bit of research about the best international packers and movers such as Writer Relocations before you think of booking them, you must also do research about the companies you are applying to. Interviewers like candidates who take the initiative and are well informed about the organisation they want to work at. It convinces them that you really want to work at the company and that will always work to your advantage.

5. Specify in your cover letter that you are willing to move

To avoid any confusion, and to convey to your potential employer that you are willing to move if you land a job there, mention the same explicitly in your cover letter. Your potential employer must have clarity on your future plans for them to think about hiring you.

These 5 ideas would make it a lot easier for you to find a job overseas, just like hiring international packers and movers Mumbai that provide quality worldwide relocation services would make it easier for you to relocate overseas. In the second part of this series, we will continue from where we left off and discuss 5 more ideas that will improve your chances of getting a job overseas.
