MDB (.mdb) or Microsoft Access Database- MS Access 2003 along with its previous version of database management system was compiled with .mdb file or MDB format.
Reasons behind corruption of Access database
There are several reasons behind the corruption of MS Access and when there is a little bit ignorance then it can lead to severe corruption. There is no computer file is immune to data corruption and several reasons like improper system shutdown, virus attack, program force exit etc. Some other reasons are improper data synchronization, disk failure etc.
Some common errors occur when access file is corrupted
· Error 3343- Unrecognized database format ‘path/filename.mdb’
· The database ‘filename.mdb’ needs to be repaired or isn’t a database file
· The database is in an unexpected state
· Microsoft Access has detected corruption in this file
· Error 2239 – The database ‘filename.mdb’ needs to be repaired or isn’t a database file
· Error 3033 – You do not have the necessary permissions to use the ‘filename.mdb’ object. Have your system administrator or the person who created the object establishes the appropriate permissions for you
· (Error 3049 – Cannot open database ‘filename.mdb’. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt
· Unexpected error 35012
· Error 3259- Invalid field data type
When your access database shows the above error messages then make sure that your access database gets corrupted. Therefore you should try to fix the corruption immediately.
How to repair corrupt access database
Microsoft Access has inbuilt Compact and Repair feature which can use to repair minor corruption of access database.
