In low temperatures or even severe cold conditions in winter, it is necessary to pay special attention to the antifreeze measures of the intermediate frequency furnace to ensure its normal operation. So, what are the specific antifreeze measures for medium frequency induction furnaces in winter?
Antifreeze measures before winter operation
In winter, the intermediate frequency furnace can be placed in a warmer place. Check the interior of the unit for signs of ice formation before starting up. Make sure to start the equipment under the condition that the cooling water is unblocked. In view of the full production tasks and basically uninterrupted production, but in the case of short production intervals, the intermediate frequency furnace can be switched to the winter antifreeze mode, and the interval time and running time can be set manually, and the equipment can automatically run according to the set program. However, it should be noted that the working time should not be too long, and the normal power supply should be ensured so that the circulating medium in the system is sufficient.
Antifreeze measures for medium frequency furnace during winter operation
1. Antifreeze measures for circulating waterways
If the production of the intermediate frequency electric furnace is not in continuous operation, it is recommended to add antifreeze to the closed water tank of the cooling tower to ensure that the entire circulation pipeline is filled with antifreeze to ensure that the circulation pipeline will not be cracked by freezing. The purity of the antifreeze is ethylene glycol with a purity of more than 99%. Antifreeze does not corrode the cooling pipes and does not volatilize itself. The ratio of antifreeze to circulating water needs to be selected according to the site.
2. Cooler antifreeze measures
First of all, when installing the cooling tower of the intermediate frequency electric furnace, the cooler should be arranged in an inclined manner. In this way, when the cooling tower is shut down in winter, the cooling water can be drained to the greatest extent, thereby preventing the cooler coil from freezing and cracking due to low temperatures. Below zero, if the cooling tower stops running, use high-pressure gas to blow out the residual water in the cooling tower through the water inlet to ensure that the cooling coil will not be frozen and cracked.
Antifreeze measures after winter operation
After use, the water in the intermediate frequency furnace should be blown clean with an air compressor in time; the water pump should be powered on for 24 hours to ensure that the cooling water in the equipment keeps flowing to prevent freezing. Antifreeze can also be added to the intermediate frequency furnace to delay the freezing of the equipment.
According to the ambient temperature of the place of use and according to the performance parameters of the antifreeze, prepare antifreeze suitable for the local meteorological characteristics. The freezing point of the antifreeze generally needs to be selected to be 10°C lower than the winter temperature of the place of residence. The specific amount of antifreeze added can be added as appropriate after consulting the antifreeze provider according to the actual temperature of the place where it is used. It is no need for too much water in the circulating water tank. It can be circulated so as to reduce the usage of antifreeze. Daily maintenance should pay attention to check the amount of antifreeze, and if it is found to be insufficient, it should be replenished with antifreeze of the same brand in the time. The antifreeze should be replaced according to the date required by the manufacturer. Generally speaking, the antifreeze should be replaced every two years.
As long as the winter antifreeze measures of the intermediate frequency furnace are done according to the above content, the normal operation of the equipment at low temperatures can be guaranteed as much as possible, the equipment can be well maintained, and its service life can be effectively extended.
