How to preparing yummy party foods quickly

by Mohimenul Islam SEO service provider

Your friends are having a party! Hooray! You’re excited to go, but they have asked you to help out by bringing some snacks. You’d like to bring something impressive, but you don’t have a lot of money to spend. What do you do? Try these tips for sure-to-please treats:

Fresh fruit skewers are colorful additions to any party table. Buy fresh fruit in season (it will be less expensive than buying fruit out of season). Put two or three pieces of assorted fruit onto toothpicks and arrange them in a pretty bowl or platter. Apples and pears should be dipped in lemon water to prevent them from turning brown. Watermelon can be cut in half, hollowed out, and the fruit chunks placed back into the rind for a disposable serving dish. Even canned fruit cocktail can be a fancier dish if you drain the syrup from it, toss the fruit with a cup of strawberry yogurt, and stir in some chopped walnuts for crunch.

For chilled snacks, my go-to choice is cheese squares and prosciutto on fancy crackers. It’s delicious to eat and can be pretty to look at if you find some crackers in unusual shapes such as butterflies or hearts. Prosciutto can be pricey, but you won’t need to use a lot of it to give a delicious flavor.

Substitute roast beef cold cuts from the deli if you are watching your spending. Another suggestion is to make chicken salad sandwiches, using thin-sliced bread. Layer the chicken salad between up to four slices of bread, stacked one on top of the other, and cut the crusts off with a sharp knife. Then cut the sandwich stack into one inch squares. Use cocktail skewers to hold the layers together and to give your guests something to eat them with, so they don’t get their fingers in the chicken salad filling.

Stuffed mushroom caps are a perfect hot nibble. If you don’t want to make your own, buy them frozen and put them on baking sheets ahead of time. A few minutes before it’s time to serve, pop them in the oven to heat them through. Another hot food idea is to set out a crock pot with chili, with small bowls for the guests to serve themselves. Be sure to have some shredded cheese and corn chips for them to put on top of their chili.

Dessert can be as fancy or as casual as you like. I love making plates of cookies. I can make them up a day in advance, and set them out right before my guests arrive. My favorites are chocolate chip, goat cheese sugar cookies, lemon bars and peanut butter thumbprints. Not only are these tried-and-true favorites, but the goat cheese sugar cookies will be a new favorite as soon as your guests take the first bite.

Set out a nice fruity punch made with canned pineapple juice, cranberry juice and 7-Up to round out your party refreshments. Now sit back and enjoy your time with your guests!
