How to Plan an Engagement Event in Atlanta?

by Kevin Smith Author

Not everyone likes team meetings. In fact, it’s quite often that a team feels like engagement events can waste company time and money. After all, a job is where you work, not where you have fun.

While these sentiments are somewhat true and brutally honest, there is some merit to engagement events. You want your team to perform well together. You want to keep your employees happy. You want to keep your employees on your team. Engagement events can do these things. And, fortunately, your company will have a lot of options in the Metro Atlanta area.

A Worthy Cause

There are a lot of possible reasons why you, or your direct supervisor, has tasked you with planning an engagement event for your team. This reason is critical. You will want to know the exact purpose before planning any part of your team’s event.

Not only will this help the planning process, but it will also help explain the point of this event to your team. You will want to have your team on board. This process will also assist with clearing the event with your company. Knowing exactly what the purpose is will make arguing for company resources much easier.

An Applicable Type

After you’ve narrowed down the purpose of your team’s engagement event, look at what kind of meeting you’re planning to have. There are many kinds of meetings and they all have their own pros and cons.

Consider that the purpose of your event is to increase company retention. You would want to plan things that increase your team’s morale. Maybe you would plan something that could recognize each member of the team and encourage them. Then consider that the purpose of your event is to increase the team’s sale numbers. You would want to plan different exercises for members to use in the workplace. You might want to bring in a motivational speaker.

A Great Venue

Finding the right venue for your team’s engagement mostly depends on the previously discussed factors. The purpose of your meeting and the kind of meeting it is can drastically change the available venue options. An outside venue might be best for a pure team-building event, while an expensive looking conference center would work for a professional growth and networking event.

There are a lot of great corporate event venues in Atlanta. Take your time to review as many options as you can. Finding the perfect venue for your budget is important. Where you go makes a huge impact. Will the venue look expensive? Is the venue outside in a beautiful part of town? The venue you decide can make a lasting impression on the team, make them feel valuable, and increase participation.

Narrow the purpose, settle on a style and explore the corporate event venues in Atlanta. When you’re done, you should be ready to decide on what kind of corporate event is best for your team. Not only will you be confident in your decision, but you will also be well-equipped to argue the worth of this event to your superiors and to your team.
