How to make a paintball grenade

A paintball grenade is a breakable balloon filled with dye that is used during paintball matches. When you throw or shoot it, when using a grenade launcher, the substance can create a splash with a radius of 1 to 2 m (4 to 5 feet) and "hurt" many players at once. These can add much more emotion and realism to the game.

Prepare the materials

Cut the tube. Cut the 10 mm (3/8 inch) latex tube with a scissor or knife. Each grenade will need a tube at least 15 cm (6 inches) long. You can use longer tubes to make larger grenades if you prefer. Measure each section before cutting to make it uniform.

Measure the mixture. Measure ¼ cup of flour and ¼ cup of cornstarch with a measuring cup. You will use this to make the painting. Take the food coloring and set it aside. You can add it directly to the mix, since you do not need to measure it.

Get other materials. A medium pot will be needed to create the pomegranate filling. Also make sure you have a spray bottle or syringe, cotters or forks, a clamp and several washers before you start.

Build the grenades

Fill the pot with water. You will only have to fill it approximately halfway. Let it achieve a slight boil without it getting to boil. Once the water is ready, slowly pour a little of the corn starch and flour mixture and stir. Don't make the mixture too thick. It must have the consistency of cake dough. Add about 4 drops of food coloring to the mixture.

Fill the spray bottle or syringe with the mixture. Place the part with the open end of the tube tied over the mouth of the spray bottle or syringe. If you use a spray bottle, simply squirt the mixture into the tube. When you use a syringe, push the mixture into the tube slowly.

Hold the open end with the tweezers. Once you fill the tube (8 to 10 cm or 3 to 4 inches in diameter), you can slowly take out the elastic band and the spray bottle or syringe.

Secure the open end. Fold the open end down about 3 cm (1 inch). Remove the clamp once you get a good grip. Slide a washer down the bent side. Take a key and slide it through the rubber tube over the washer.

Use the paintball grenade

Stay safe. Make sure that you and those around you wear the proper clothing to throw the paintball grenades. If you throw with enough force, they can cause bruises so cover yourself. Wear long-sleeved shirts and pants, as well as protective goggles.

It points to a hard surface. To achieve the best results, it is a good idea to aim for a bunker in the fort or paintball field. The impact will increase the radius of the sprayer. In addition, you can eliminate more players.

Throw the grenade. When you're ready, remove the key from the tube and leave the washer in place. Throw the grenade at the intended target. Once the washer hits the ground or other hard surface, the tube will open suddenly causing the paint to splatter several meters.
