Though there are users who are concerned about their privacy a lot, they don’t want to show content that they upload to everyone. There are options to limit your posts and photos view to limited users on Facebook, but what about Instagram? Well, Instagram allows you to either let only your followers see your content or everyone on Instagram. It doesn’t allow you to limit the visibility of your posts and stories. Still, there are a few options that will be helpful if you want to keep things private on Instagram. Let’s have a look at them.

1. Archive old photos or videos

If you don’t want to show your past posts to your followers and other people on Instagram, you can archive your posts. The selected posts will be there, hidden, on your Instagram profile. Nobody else, only you can see the archive posts on your profile. For hiding an Instagram post, touch the icon with three vertical dots and choose the Archive option from there. Your selected post will not be there on your profile but will appear on the Archive posts section.

If you want the archived post back on your profile, open your Instagram profile, and tap on the Archive option available at the top-right section. Select Posts archive and you will see the collection of the archived posts. For showing any Instagram post again on your profile, tap on the image or video, and choose the Show on Profile option. You chosen image or video will be visible on your profile.

2. Block a follower

If you see any follower sending hate messages or comments on your posts, you have the option to block the user directly. That specific user will not be able to see your profile and posts later on. To block an Instagram follower, go to their profile and tap the three-dot button available on the top-right section on the screen. Then, hit the Block option to restrict that particular user from seeing you permanently. You can even turn off commenting on your post if you don’t want to see comment on any of your posts.

3. Hide your activity status

Instagram doesn’t show you last seen with your posts or message section. But, it lets others know when you were active before. You can choose to hide the activity status to stop showing the last active part. For that, open your Instagram profile and touch the option with the three-dot icon available on the top-right section of the screen. Now, open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Activity Status, and toggle off the switch given there.

4. Make your profile private

Another great and popular way to hide your posts from the people that you don’t know is through making your Instagram profile private. Only those who follow you on Instagram will be able to see your posts with a private Instagram profile. Though, others can request you for following. If you want to make your Instagram profile private, visit Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Account Privacy, and toggle on the switch given over there.

In this way, you can limit viewing of your Instagram profile and the associated content on it.
