Use a Unique ID and Password of Meeting

You might not notice this, but in the automatic link of Zoom, there room ID and password both are available for joining the meeting. However, you can change it to have the total access to launch a separate meeting with a unique ID and password. It is true that the link will also post the ID and password that you provide. A meeting of multiple friends shouldn’t happen through regular ID and password; in fact, it should be more complex.

  1. On the homepage of Zoom, tap on the “MY Account” section and press on “Schedule a meeting.”
  2. You can enter the meeting description and topic. Enter Date and time, with an interval of meeting. The maximum timing for a free plan of the Zoom meeting is up to 40 minutes.
  3. Check the ID of the meeting and choose “Generate Automatically.” It will generate a specific unique ID of meeting, but you can also make your own room ID as well.
  4. Be sure about the “Require a Password.” Zoon can create an automatic password, but you can make your own as well.
  5. Below that option, find and check the “Enable waiting room” option.
  6. Tap on “Save.”

A new meeting page will be brought up where several meeting options will be visible. Slide down, and you will find “Copy the invitation” to take the information to send it to participants. After you and every other participant is ready, tap on the “Start this meeting” icon.

When you are using the Zoom app:

  1. Tap on “Schedule.”
  2. You will see the same sections in the web app if you want to enable the waiting room the tap on the “Advanced Options” of the bottom of the page.
  3. Press on the Blue “Schedule” key.

You will be asked to put up the meeting into the calendar. After that procedure, you will be back in the main window. The meeting will be on the right, but you can tap on the three main dots of the right side to name to do copy invitation or make any changes for the participants.

Try the Virtual Waiting Room

The use of the virtual waiting room could be helpful because it allows you to look out for everyone who wants to join the meeting before joining. You can choose to let them in the meeting or not. At the time when participant tap on the link, they will be required to wait before they get approval to join the waiting room. You can allow them to meet after getting into the “See waiting room” and allow them to enter.

There you will see sidebar of those participants who are willing to join the meeting, and they can only enter if you admit them into the room. You can also remove them or send them to message your opinion. Approving every participant could be a tough task if you know that many participants are going to come into the meeting. So only approve of those participants who really need to be in the meeting.

Lock Down, Do Not Share and Remove

To enhance the security of your Zoom meeting, there are some security options available that you can utilize for your and other participants’ benefits. First thing you should know who really belongs to the meeting whoever available in the room. You can also lock the room of meeting by pressing on the “Security” link, which is at the bottom side, and select “Lock Meeting.” After doing it, no one will be able to get into the meeting even if they have an ID and password.


If any participant is not behaving well in the meeting and creating things worst for other participants, then you can take your actions. In the Zoom meeting, you have the option of share screens, and if someone uses it for creating the problem, you can put them into the waiting room without kicking them out. On the bottom side, you will find the “Manage Participants” option. There you can choose the participant and tap on More>Put in the waiting room.

You have all the options available to keep the person in the waiting room or any other place. If you can also use the “Remove” option to remove them permanently from the room. These options can make your meeting better and more protective for other members.
