Window frosting is a great way of providing your rooms with additional privacy. Once you have installed the window frosting film, people will no longer be able to look inside of the property. This helps you to become more comfortable when in your home environment, as well as making your windows look sophisticated at the same time.

Frosted window film is a thin adhesive film designed to give the appearance of frost on the glass, which adds a certain style and contemporary appeal to the property. Even when it is dark outside and the lights are on inside the property, you cannot see in. Home window tinting and frosting are additions to your windows very easy to install when you follow the appropriate steps.

Preparation

Make sure that the environment you are working in is clean and the window surface has no debris or marks on it before applying the window frosting film. The surface must be dust and grease free, so it is a good idea to give them a very good clean with a lint free cloth and some kind of glass cleaner before starting. You have to make sure that there are no fibres or loose paint on the edges of the frame.

Applying the window frosting film

First thing you need to do is to wash your hands. Then, put the window film on the table with the frosted side of it down and the paper backing side up. It is important you wet your hands with detergent solution in order to not leave any fingerprints on the film when you touch it.

Once you have the film on the table on the right position and you know the exact dimensions of the window glass, cut the film of frosting accordingly.

When you have the piece of film with the right dimensions, it is time to peel off the paper at the back. You start by peeling only one of the two corners on the top and spray this revealed corner with the detergent solution. Continue peeling off the backing paper and spraying the sticky side of the frosting film. Once this is done you need to spray the window glass as well.

Hold the window frosting film by the top corners and place its sticky side onto the window. Thanks to the detergent solution you will be able to place the film in the correct position. Once it is where you want it to be, you only need a credit card to use as a squeegee and remove the excess solution by carefully smoothing over the film from the centre outwards. Have a look from the outside to see if there are any bubbles and if the film is in the correct place.
