How To Install Software or App On Mac?

Most of the times, it happens users came across with the great deals on the applications in the web. But, they take a pause and think “How to Install Software on Mac”. But, this is not a big reason to worry. Mac OS supports most of the application and it’s very easy to download. However, if downloaded from the web, not from the Store, then be prepared to perform some tasks.

 

 

As stated earlier, if the application downloaded from the web, not from the Mac App Store, then you will get the error. No need to get worried, just right click on the downloaded file and select Open.

 

·         Finder window will open and it will show the application file, usually indicated with the arrow.

·         Now drag the application file to the Application folder.

·         That’s it, your software is installed. It’s so easy.

·         The above process was for the '.dmg' file. If the application files are in ZIP format, then you will have to put some extra effort. For your solace, few steps are listed below.

 

·         If the downloaded files are in ZIP format or RAR format, then look for the un-archiver to open the files.

·         After completing the archive process, you will get the application icon.

·         Now drag the application files to the Application folder.  You’re done.

 

·         If the downloaded application is in the format of PKG, then you can’t go for the drag and drop method which is mentioned above. You just need to double-click on the application file (downloaded) to run.

·         Thereafter, you will get the on-screen instructions provided by the application.

·         Just go through the same and complete the installation wizard.
